Nexo donates $150K to a non-profit organization called Brink, which works to maintain and to polish the Bitcoin protocol which came after Jack Dorsey decided to do the same so let’s read more in our latest cryptocurrency news.
Nexo donates $150 to Brink which is a non-profit organization that is decided to supporting and encouraging the open-source bitcoin development community and the decision came after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey granted 1 BTC to the organization as well. As BTC continues to see more growth, industry leaders and stakeholders are focusing on promoting open-source crypto development in order to support the protocol that is laying the foundation for a growing blockchain economy.
Just as with any other software project, BTC requires regular maintenance and development to work in the best way possible. With the network expanding, future upkeep costs are increasing which is one of the reasons that Nexo donated $150K to Bring which is working to support open-source BTC development. These funds will help Brink add more educational and mentorship program to improve and to expand the community as Antoni Trenchev the co-founder of Nexo said:
“The $150k donation marks Nexo’s commitment to open-source funding and supporting Bitcoin.”
Brink wants to utilize these funds later in the month and to assist individual BTC Developers through grants so the NFO already operates a few programs that help BTC developers and researchers financially. The fellowship program introduces BTC development to developers of other sectors so the grant program funds current BTC contributors as well.
As the BTC network value increases, the cost of repairing one of these vulnerabilities is rising as well which is why adversaries want to exploit them. experienced protocol developers are in the need to sustain the crypto infrastructure more than ever, as Brink co-founder John Newbery said:
“The deep knowledge that Bitcoin Core contributors have accumulated over several years is an important part of the network’s worth. The Bitcoin network would slowly deteriorate and gradually become unusable if developers were unable to manage and expand the core software”.”
While crypto is a huge market, only a few businesses give back to the community to support the open-source development work. Nexo’s donation parallels other key leaders like Gemini, Kraken, Square. Nexo’s Trenchev commented:
“We’re proud to be part of such an exclusive club, but we also believe the industry should do more. What if some of the public companies that recently started allocating billions of dollars to Bitcoin also put a small percentage of that, say 0.25%, toward Bitcoin development?”
