A subsidiary of Pornhub, which is one of the largest businesses in the porn industry, has recently begun adopting the blockchain and tokenization technologies all in order to reward its watchers with cryptocurrency for watching videos on the website.
Tube8 is the adult entertainment platform in question. The Pornhub subsidiary has recently partnered with the blockchain platform Vice Industry Token (VIT) for the total tokenization of the website. This will allow viewers to get paid for engaging in activities on the platform – including streaming and interacting with videos.
The initiative is supposed to launch by the end of 2018 and will affect the entire Tube8 platform on the blockchain. On top of this, it will make Tube8 the first adult entertainment site that will adopt token-based rewards and payments for all website visitors.
Most importantly, the collaboration could transform to one of the most significant entries of blockchain in a massive industry. A spokesperson for Tube8 named Robin Turner recently commented on the situation and the entire paradigm shift:
“For as long as I can remember, getting paid to watch porn was always a pipedream; one that was always dreamed about, but never fully realized. Now however, with the introduction of VIT, we are marking a paradigm shift in how people consume adult entertainment. As opposed to having to fork over money to consume content, which some sites require, our users will get paid to consume our free content. The more they interact with our videos, the more money they earn.”
This collaboration will certainly pave the way for other several similar platforms which are ready to adopt blockchain and start offering the incentivized services to their users – surpassing the present individual goals and targets of their participants.
