Johnny Depp is officially in the crypto waters, after his deal with a new cryptocurrency related platform called TaTaTu (yes, we know it sounds like a name from “Pirates Of The Caribbean”) went viral in today’s cryptocurrency news.
The Oscar-winning actor has signed a contract in which he aims to support the platform in providing social entertainment. The platform, on the other hand, will be rewarding users in tokens for interacting with certain content such as movies and games.
The official announcement came by The Hollywood Reporter, noting that Depp will work alongside Andrea Iervolino on the project – who is a businessman, entrepreneur and a movie producer behind the platform.
Depp and Iervolino are already planning the rise of this platform and will be shooting a movie together later this month – produced by the latter and his production company AMBI.

The partnership also comes at the perfect time when Depp is looking for a comeback, after losing more than $650 million – as reported by Deadline.
Depp joins a sizeable list of mainstream celebrities who have shown interest in crypto and the blockchain fields. Earlier this year, we had Steven Seagal involve in an ICO, Mark Cuban and his UnikoinGoldTokens, as well as Paris Hilton and Jamie Foxx among the many endorsements.
