Paltrow is the latest celeb that is taking part in a crypto giveaway campaign that started back in November with Cash App. The app is giving away a total of $1 million in crypto. A month ago we saw Green Bay Packers quarterback and three-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers announcing that he was giving away BTC and receiving a portion of his salary in crypto. Cash App is a popular mobile app that allows users to send money and buy BTC. It is owned by Block or formerly known as Square, the payments company that was founded by Jack Dorsey, who recently left his position as CEO of Twitter. The company was one of the first to put BTC on its balance sheet and it now owns over 8000 or $377 million at today’s prices.
For anyone that wants to win BTC, you have until January 14 to comment on Paltrow’s social media posts. As recently reported, Block noted that the Cash app uses can also split the bills and repay their friends by sending them stocks or BTC and not just cash. The reprots previously show that Cash App generated $1.82 billion in BTC revenue and $42 million in BTC gross profit during the third quarter of 2021 as both increased 11% and 29% year-on-year. The feature could encourage more users to start investing and to become owners of stocks and BTC via the Cash App.
