The high school students in France are apparently going to start learning more about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin (BTC) as the leading cryptocurrency out there, according to an update in the high school curriculum. The French high schools will make the new update soon, which was previously amended by the Ministry of National Education in the country.
In fact, it was the study plan which was amended by the French Ministry of National Education this June 2019, incorporating the world’s largest cryptocurrency as part of it. The Bitcoin news today show that French high schools and educators are expected to teach an introductory course which will assist students in understanding the impact that Bitcoin has on the French and global economies at scale.
The ministry also provides teachers with three educational explainer videos addressing questions such as “Is Bitcoin the currency of the future?”, “Can Bitcoin replace the Euro?” and “Do you have trust in your currency?”
French high schools will soon go through a change, the ministry’s outline confirms. Based on it, students will be required to compare Bitcoin with fiat currencies, which will eventually lead to further knowledge about the dominant cryptocurrency, other cryptocurrencies and their role in the traditional financial world.
Even though this is only an introductory course to Bitcoin, it is something that leaves students with a rough guide towards cryptocurrencies and the entire ecosystem. French high schools are the best point of exchanging this knowledge with the students, according to experts. So, despite the fact that this education won’t product crypto experts, it will definitely trigger their interest and show students the ins-and-outs of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
As crypto becomes more widely adopted, high schools in France and many other countries are expected to further develop the curriculum and bring solid education about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general.

As a reminder, France is seeing a surge in the cryptocurrency adoption. The French crypto startup Keplerk recently relaunched its services and is now accepting BTC payments in over 5,200 tobacco shops in the country.
In late September this year, more than 25,000 point-of-sale terminals of 30 french retailers including the major sportswear brand Decathlon and the cosmetics store Sephora announced that they will start accepting Bitcoin payments by early 2020.
