The Dolder Grand, Switzerland’s popular five-star hotel, officially announced they started accepting Bitcoin payments. Following the latest cryptocurrency news, the hotel welcomes guests to pay their bills in BTC or Ether.
The hotel which is based in Zurich is the first of its kind to accept crypto payments. This new feature will be implemented by the company Inacta. The fintech company has already developed an app for the hotel.

With this app, the guests can pay for hotel services using their assets in their crypto wallets. The Swiss-based exchange Bity will convert the crypto into fiat currencies. Inaca will also provide more cryptocurrencies in the future for better diversity.
The blockchain advisory head of Inacata Roger Darlin said:
‘’It is aimed at customers who have built up legitimate cryptocurrency holdings and who don’t want to convert them into traditional currencies, such as Swiss francs. This also allows vendors, who may be cautious about handling cryptocurrencies directly, to accept payments from these clients.’’
Another popular company Avnet also decided to start accepting crypto payments. Avnet partnered with the crypto payments company BitPay. Also, Digitec Galaxus also started accepting bitcoin payments after its partnership with Coinfy. The company will apply a 1.5 percent fee but this feature will only be available for large purchases.
It’s impressive how the crypto payments adoption is growing. Many popular companies are getting in the game. For example, Japan’s largest railway operator, Japan Railways Group, announced they are also considering a Bitcoin payment option. JR group, however, will not partner with a payments provider. They are hoping to create their own cryptocurrency and payments infrastructure.
The Kiev City State Administration is also one of the public sector entities considering adopting crypto payments. Crypto regulation and usage in Ukraine has been an issue for a while now. The country previously considered the option but gave up eventually. Now, however, Ukraine is looking into the option of introducing crypto electronic tickets.
