Brave Software, the company behind the Brave Browser, recently announced that its browser has been downloaded from the Google Play Store more than 10 million times, which doubled up the user base in just four months. The post was officially revealed on Brave’s Twitter profile last Friday.
After hitting 5 million downloads in May 2018, six months after the browser his the 1 million download mark, the ad-blocking tool which rewards readers with the Basic Attention Token (BAT) is still aiming at revolutionizing the entire monetization model of the Internet, which is currently dependent on advertising revenue, tracking user behavior and sale of user data.

Brave had great ambitions right from the start. The browser raised $36 million in 30 seconds during its ICO round, which set a record at the time for the most money raised in an ICO.
Right now, Brave is known as a browser that offers content creators as well as streamers on YouTube and Twitch the ability to earn cryptocurrency through its ad-based model. As one of the users of Brave, Phillip DeFranco confidently said:
“I’m so excited to work with Brave and spread the word because, in addition to being such a fantastic product that creates a cleaner, faster, and secure browsing experience, they are thinking about creators, their audiences, and how to support both first. This is a fantastic opportunity for the creators looking to diversify and get the platform that makes it easier to go from creating as a hobby, to creating and supporting yourself, to building your very own business.”
The micropayments in BAT help users get paid in crypto and enjoy the non-intrusive advertisements that are native to the Brave platform.
