The cryptocurrency custody firm Casa is in the Bitcoin news now for unveiling its new wallet which will offer access without any seed phrases and give users a better way to check on their private keys. The Casa Bitcoin wallet is perfect for both newbies and long-term HODLers.
A blog post from June 13 shows that the crypto firm that provides a private key management service announced that it had created Casa Wallet after an investment from venture capital fund Mantis VC passed. The software wallet designed around privacy named the Casa Wallet allows users to not provide any personal information apart from their first name and email.
In addition to this, we can see that the Casa Bitcoin wallet does not prompt users to set up an account with a seed phrase. For those of you who don’t know, this is usually a mnemonic phrase which is needed to regain access to a wallet.
Some of the notes that Casa shared when unveiling the wallet as the primary features included:
-
Secure, private wallet from Casa – built inside the same Keymaster app powering Casa memberships.
-
-
Great for beginners looking for a simple wallet where they fully control their Bitcoin.
As Casa said, users can create a key to store on their mobile device. Then, an encrypted backup is split across Casa and the OS-specific cloud provider, which wallet holders can easily retrieve with two-factor authentication (2FA).
The Casa Wallet also features a ‘Key Healt’ which is essentially a feature that allows users to check up on their private keys. This confirms that the wallet is backed up after which it checks users’ signatures and sees if they are authentic.
“We realized there wasn’t an option on the market as easy as a custodial wallet, but which stayed true to the Bitcoin values of giving you full control and sovereignty over your money. So we decided to build one right inside our Keymaster app.”
The cryptocurrency news before (in September 2019) showed that Casa released its non-custodial mobile wallet app named Sats for both Android and iOS users. Sats can be used without the company’s hardware Bitcoin (BTC) lighting node.
The seedless setup, key health, Casa security, privacy-focused features and others were the main ideas behind the genesis of the Casa Wallet, which goes all the way back to 2018 when the company’s premium clients began asking the firm for a wallet they’d feel comfortable recommending to family and friends. This is what Casa shared in the blog post, unveiling the wallet’s features in detail.
