Bitcoin goes mainstream since on Thursday night Stephen Colbert, the popular TV night show host mentioned the leading cryptocurrency in his monologue as we are about to read further in the bitcoin news below.
As normal, the TV host and entertainer weighed in on bitcoin and made fun of the state of US politics addressing the serious matter with slight humor on the situation. What is even funnier, Bitcoin and Blockchain made a cameo but not in the way that you would expect. Colbert didn’t bring on a crypto invest as a guest or praise the benefits of blockchain technologies in a comedic fashion. He said:
Let’s see, places I’d rather be than a Trump rally off the top of my head: the DMV, the dentist, someone else’s child’s clarinet recital, a Soviet gulag, covered with honey and staked on an anthill, sliding down a 50-foot razor blade into a bathtub of gin, and in conversation with someone that knows a lot about Bitcoin — go on, go on about blockchain.
Of course, this could be seen as a bullish sign for Bitcoin since it briefly became the topic of interest for Colbert’s millions of active viewers but the talk show host’s comments didn’t quite paint the industry in a good light. In fact, it may have made the viewers confirm their suspicion that cryptocurrencies are a sham and worthless.
Colbert’s brief and negative mention of Bitcoin and blockchain on his came shortly after Naomi Scott who is a British actress known for her roles in Aladdin and The Martian mentioned the same subject matters on Jimmy Fallon’s show.

Scott discussed one of her latest roles and told a brief story about how one of the co-workers was trying to tell her about blockchain for her role and Fallon interjected by calling the technology ‘’the bitcoin thing.’’
It is important to note that this is not the first time that a host of a night show bashes cryptocurrencies on-air since, in the middle of 2018, the British comedian hosted 25-minute segment cryptocurrencies. Either way, bitcoin goes mainstream only not in the way you would expect.
