The Bitcoin Game App Blast was removed from Google Play last week when the company decided to extend its series of blockchain and crypto-related content bans. After a long discussion, the app has now been reinstated but the users say that there are still many problems with the app as we are about to read in the bitcoin news today.
The relationship that Google has with crypto got damaged a while back when the platform decided to remove all of the crypto-related content. The Bitcoin Game app Blast is still hosted but Google remains vigilant for potential scams. Google Play has also become the source of scams and fake wallets thus explaining their vigilance. The Blast app is a game that allows earning of BTC which similar to Candy Crush that also works as a small-scale Bitcoin faucet. The app is now available and the page comes with a warning that playing the game can only translate very small BTC earnings.
The payout will reach only a fraction of a cent and will be considered a ‘’ dust’’ amount and taking a payout to a wallet will be similar to using a faucet for only a few Satoshis. The problem with Google Play was that they blocked the app without a warning and waited on their teams on revision. Google’s stance on the crypto-based apps is to consider banning but the biggest blow was the decision to block the MetaMask wallet which got reinstated within a week.
Google is still a good place for crypto wallets and apps since there are a lot of access points with Bitcoin and altcoin wallets but the risk remains high for fake wallets and apps that aim to steal private keys. The company’s CEO Amy Wan says that the app is highly visible now and connected to their audience but the game has to resubmit the latest version since the previous one might have got its data erased. For now, there are 25,000 users with 4.5-star average reviews for the app.
The biggest complaint about the app is there is a daily limit to earning points but it has still become a very popular tool to popularize bitcoin. Wan complained there’s a lack of warning for removing these top-rated apps and recalled that YouTube did the same for the crypto-related content.
