Bitcoin Advocate John McAfee Freed From Detention

Bitcoin advocate and controversial US 2020 Presidential candidate John McAfee was officially freed from detention after he was arrested in the Dominican Republic on July 24 as we read in the previous altcoin news on our website.

As he wrote on Twitter and as we reported yesterday here on DC Forecasts, the presidential manager of McAfee’s campaign wrote that the entrepreneur would have to move to an unspecified location where he will update his followers. McAfee’s wife and a couple of other associates lived on a boat and traveled around the Caribbean over the past few months in order to escape the US law enforcement because he is wanted in the country on charges relating to tax evasion. Rob Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Loggia-Ramirez wrote on Twitter:

 “I have spoken with John over the phone and can confirm their safe release. They are underway to a new location but have been forced to leave The Freedom Boat for now. John will be assuming control of this account again after travel.”

Another tweet, seemingly from John McAfee himself says:

 “Leaving detention (don’t judge my looks – four days of confinement). I was well treated. My superiors were friendly and helpful.

In spite of the helpful circumstances, we’ve decided to move on.”

Reportedly, the group encountered difficulties after they posted a photo from the both with firearms. The armed forces arrested them when they reached the Dominican Republic and McAfee spent four days in confinement. This event is a part of the latest drama involving McAfee which also includes the controversy over an ‘’unhackable’’ bitcoin wallet that he endorsed last year and more recently a spat with proponents of the Bitcoin SV altcoin. He was forced to withdraw the claims of the BitFi wallet that it was unbreachable after a developer provided proof that he bypassed the security.

As noted in the latest cryptocurrency news, the Bitcoin advocate is running for president in the new 2020 US Presidential elections and his campaign is based on the anti-establishment platform where he claims that the freedom for the people is his main priority:

 “So do not ask me about immigration, foreign relations, education, etc. I have no idea,” it states. “Those claiming that they do are lying to themselves, or if not, they are purposely lying to you. We must first be free. Freedom for The People is my only goal.”
