Despite the fraud hitman services, the DuPage County prosecutors charged her with the Attempted First Degree Murder along with other charges that were later dropped when she agreed to plead guilty for the felony:

 “This type of pre-meditated criminal scheming is an incredibly serious offense that warrants a serious punishment, as the defendant learned today. Thankfully, Jones’ plot to kill a woman she saw as an obstacle to her romantic pursuit never materialized and the victim was uninjured.”

Jones will now be remembered as the woman who paid $12,000 in BTC and is still unclear what exposed her plot. The prosecutors said that the local police initially received a tip from the CBS show 48 hours which had been investigating a dark web market for an episode of the show. Jones believed she had taken some great pains to conceal her identity but apparently that wasn’t the case as we learned today in the latest cryptocurrency news.
