BitPay Announces Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Retail Payments

One of the leading cryptocurrency payment service provider, BitPay, has recently announced that it will allow brick and mortar businesses to use Bitcoin Cash (BCH) for payments. The new service will also give customers the option to choose between paying in Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Currently, BitPay Checkout is one of the main services of the giant. It is used in restaurants and many other retail businesses in Atlanta, Toronto, Madeira, St. Petersburg and Paris. Serving these entities and large cities since 2014, BitPay has decided to add more options for crypto payments.

That is how Bitcoin Cash (BCH) got in the spotlight as the new currency that will have only 1% processing fee and integration with companies such as Shopify, 3DCart, Bitmonet and others.

According to the official announcement on BitPay’s website:

When customers go to pay, they can select their currency of choice, select the option to give a tip, then scan a BitPay Checkout QR code with their mobile wallets. Payments take just a swipe or a tap, and the receiving merchant gets a local currency bank settlement within one business day. Merchants get every dollar or euro they charge, minus BitPay’s 1% processing fee.”

Only one month after the upgrade to online payments in Bitcoin, BitPay announced Bitcoin Cash (BCH) integration. The press release by the company also stated that merchants integrating BitPay for small-scale transactions would find it a lot easier – mostly because “Bitcoin Cash costs only pennies or less for customers to send.”

Meanwhile, the price of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is skyrocketing on the crypto market. As of recently, it increased by almost 19% – especially after BitPay’s announcement today. Going up 100% in only one week, the Bitcoin Cash market cap has doubled within seven days, climbing from $12 billion to $24 billion.
