The leading crypto exchange Binance US hired Brian Shroder who will also serve as a board member of the company. This comes after numerous hints from Changpeng Zhao that the US branch of the leading crypto exchange will become the latest publicly-traded company from the crypto space. As announced recently, Shroder will be overseeing the exchange’s corporate development fundraising, product functions, and strategies.

Tackling the web of responsibilities is not outside of Shroder’s experience. He spent three years as the HEad of business Development at ANT Group which is an owner company of China’s biggest payment platform AliPay where he focused on expanding the company’s global partnerships. He even served a similar role as Head of Strategy and Business Development at Uber in Asia where he built third-party partnerships and raised the company plenty of money from investors. Now he will work at Binance and he thinks that the company has everything that it takes to become the biggest exchange in the states:
“In under two years, BinanceUS has established itself as a regulatory compliant, profitable enterprise that serves millions of customers across the country… it is clear to me that BinanceUS has all the right ingredients to become the largest and most successful cryptocurrency and digital asset exchange in the United States.”
Regarding Shroder, Binance US chairman Changing Zhao recognized his experience and placed his faith in the hands of the new president to bring the exchange to new heights:
“His substantial experience in strategy, operations, and business and corporate development will be critical as BinanceUS seeks to raise external funds to support its rapid growth. “
Binance’s recent appointment of Shroder is one step in taking to build connections and attracting even more investment to support the long-term growth of the company. Binance also has plans to follow Coinbase’s lead and launch an initial public offering in the next three years. They will also be settling a huge private fundraising round in the next three months which is a move that will reduce Shroder’s control of the board.
