Crypto Jobs In 2018 Have Doubled, Job Site AngelList Reveals

AngelList is a website for startups offering job vacancies to job seekers and investment opportunities for angel investors. In their latest report, the company revealed that the number of crypto jobs in 2018 and job openings has doubled in the past three months.

According to the company’s weekly newsletter that was published on Tuesday, April 19th, the number of new crypto jobs in 2018 related to cryptocurrencies listed in December 2017 was around 500 (when Bitcoin reached the $20k peak).

After the crash and the Bitcoin price sinking below $7,000 in February 2018, the number of crypto job openings was more than 1000 on the website. The site even joked about the situation, citing “startups aren’t watching the markets”. However, it is certain that the number of crypto jobs in 2018 has increased by double and came closer to the site’s prediction.

However, AngelList had earlier also predicted that crypto is going to be a big marketplace in the future. In their (now updated) post titled “How To Get A Job In Crypto” they predicted that there would be over 1200 crypto job postings by 2017.

AngelList also reported that Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) were popular in March this year and that cryptocurrency hedge funds are taking the place of venture capital investors in this new model. All in all, crypto jobs in 2018 are hot – and it seems like both companies and job seekers are seeing them as popular.

CoinList, which is a spin-off of AngelList working as a platform for token-based financial services with an emphasis on regulation, raised $9.2 million during its initial fundraising.

AngelList pointed out the three companies hiring in the field of “Decentralized Finance”, three in “Security Hardware” and three companies hiring in “Decentralized Internet”. Aside from this, there are many other hot crypto jobs in 2018 which include various opportunities in development, law, and design too.
