Yuga Labs Opened Otherside For First Trip In The Metverse

Yuga Labs opened Otherside for the first trip in the Metaverse and will only be open for owners of the land plots in the first phase so let’s read more today in our latest cryptocurrency news.

Otherside is the much-anticipated metaverse gaming platform from the Bored ape YAcht Club creators and it is almost open for business. The Yuga Labs game invited 4300 players called Voyagers for a first-look tech demo and a tour of the immersive app-like online paltform. All of the Otherside players will be required to embark on the first trips to be able to take part in the game which hasn’t fully debuted.

All of the 4300 players who took part in the digital excursion of the Biogenic Swamp that consisted in the center of the Otherside were the owners of Otherdeeds as deeds to plots of the digital land within the platform and in the lite paper released after the first Trip, Otherside’s developers announced that only Otherdeed owners selected third-party developers to get permission to take part in the game during the first phase. Phase 1 will see Otherdeed owners navigate the Voyager journey game that surrounds a mysterious OBelisk that appeared in the Otherside universe. In Phase 1, Otherdeed owners will be able to contribute to the platform’s construction and shape the core capabilities and the co-developers. The lite paper reads:

The lite paper doubled down on the Otherside commitment to interoperability which allows digital assets to traverse in digital neighborhoods or other gaming platforms. The proponents of the open metaverse such as Yuga Labs saw interoperability as a key to the ethos of a democratized future internet and such advocates were quite vocal about the risks posed by corporations like Meta which wants to try and keep their offerings at the top level in order to retain control over users’ data.

Making something iteratively, with participation from the community along the way and at each milestone, feels like the only authentic way to build a true metaverse.

One of the Yuga Labs co-founders Gordon Goner said that Otherside is in direct competition with Web3 giants but then expressed optimism that the future will bend to the open metaverse. The fact that Otherside is now accessible only to digital landowners is different from other leading metaverse platforms that are open to internet users. The cheapest Otherdeeds on the market are selling for 2.8 ETH.
