im and will provide storage for these NFTs on the Ubisoft Quartz platform. Ubisoft’s Quartz announcement got a huge backlash as a trailer for the platform got 95% dislikes after it was posted on YouTube. The energy costs of crypto mining are the main reason for the criticism with many saying it is a useless and expensive technology. The complaint overlooks the fact that Ubisoft chose to use Tezos as an energy-efficient blockchain that doesn’t rely on mining. The Tezos Foundation representatives claimed that the chain’s last 50 million transactions used less energy than 17 people. However, the company’s plans seem to be underwhelming. The member of EA’s Apex Legends team Liz Edwards, outlined the fact that Ubisoft’s NFTs sold just 15 non-fungible tokens to date with a $400 in transaction volume.
This company is also facing employee resignations because of unrelated reasons like low pay and misconduct but some speculate that these PR issues around NFTs also played a part.
