Theta is making a presence in this space as the NASA-themed NFT will feature rare collections of one Badge and one Emote related to the mission of the Perseverance Rover and the Ingenuity Helicopter which if they land successfully could become the first-ever powered flight on another planet. The landing is a part of the Mars 2020 mission which aims to look for signs of ancient life and to also collect samples of rocks and regolith.
Theta will release the limited NFTs on its Theta Network TV Livestream since it is one of NASA TV’s official streaming partners since 2019. In the past, it has already streamed events like SpaceX/Falcon 9 rocket launch and this time it will live stream and celebrate this event by minting special NFTs while allowing viewers to receive the emotes and badges on their Theta.tv while watching the Livestream. Brittany Brown who is the director of Digital Communications ad NASA added:
“We’ve been collaborating with THETA to carry NASA broadcasts for almost two years nowt. The Mars landing live stream will be available February 18th on THETA alongside other streaming platforms like YouTube and Facebook.”
The head of Partnerships at Theta Labs Kyle Laffey said:
“We’re super excited to be offering these rare NFT collectibles to celebrate NASA’s landing on Mars. Our audience goes wild for NASA TV content and these rare mission-themed NFT collectibles are a perfect fit to our blockchain streaming & video platform.”
The Mars project is a part of the bigger NFT ecosystem which allows content creators and streamers to mint their own digital collectibles by increasing their earnings and bringing the NFT power of purchasing to everyone.
