Coinbase is one of the most popular exchanges in the US and it even became the most downloaded app on the Apple app store. Coinbase released a minimalistic commercial with two-dimensional graphic images and it started off with a “C” bouncing around the screen similar to the bouncing DVD logo. The letter was then replaced with a QR Code which redirected the users to a landing page promoting a BTC giveaway. Coinbase services crashed temporarily due to the influx of traffic and the platform said:
“Well, that was more popular than we thought. We need a quick time out, but don’t worry. We’ll email you when things are back to normal.”
