Snoop Dogg Will Open A BAYC NFT-Themed Dessert Restaurant

Snoop Dogg will open a BAYC NFT-themed dessert restaurant in Los Angeles as we can see more today in our latest cryptocurrency news.

The first fast food joint dubbed Bored And Hungry was the first restaurant inspired by a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT that opened in Los Angeles and now the team behind the restaurant will see NFT supporter Snoop  Dogg opening a new NFT-themed restaurant. Food Fighters Universe a startup founded by Andy Nguyen, Kevin Seo, and Phillip Huynh, joined forces with Snoop Dogg to announce their plans to open Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration that will open in Los Angeles.

Dr. Bombay is the name of the BAYC avatar that Snoop Dogg named. The Bored Ape Yacht Club is one of the most popular ETH NFTs collections with more than 10,000 unique avatars depicting cartoon apes. The NFTs generated more than $2.1 billion in secondary market trading volume up to this date. The Bored Ape Yacht Club was created by Yuga Labs and granted its holder the right to commercialize their owned images. Bored Apes was used for products ranging from apparel to beer and marijuana packaging but also virtual band projects and upcoming TV productions.

In other words, Snoop Dogg will open an NFT-themed restaurant while not being an official Bored Ape restaurant created by Yuga Labs but the rapper is also within his rights to use the owned NFT image for it. The NFT serves as proof of ownership for an item like an image in this case of an ape which provides access to a community of owners and commercial rights and other perks. Bored and Hungry takes the same approach as the new dessert shop and it features branding and decor inspired by the BAYC NFT owned by the restaurant’s creators. The Food Fighters Universe also plans to launch its own NFTs which provide various benefits for the restaurants.

Snoop Dogg is already entrenched in the NFT space and owns a Bored ape Yacht Club NFT as well as collaborates with projects like the Sandbox on Ethereum and Clay Nation on Cardano. He also released NFTs based on the Nyan Cat meme.

The rapper claims to be the person behind crypto Twitter personality Cozomo de’ Medici who has a multi-million dollar collection including CryptoPunks, XCOPY pieces, and Art Blocks. Snoop’s son, Cordell Broadus is also involved in the restaurant initaitive. He said in a press release:

“Food Fighters Universe is bridging food and Web3 and blazing a trail with real-life utility for NFTs. It’s the future of the restaurant industry, and my dad and I are thrilled to join the team and utilize their expertise to bring Dr. Bombay to life.”
