Sandbox partnered with World of Women to boost female education and other initiatives according to the announcement that we have in our latest cryptocurrency news.
The Sandbox partnered with the NFT community World of Women to launch the WoW foundation and the $25 million grant will help find the foundation in the next few years. The mission of the WoW foundation is to enhance female representation in the metaverse and NFT space. As a collection of diverse and powerful women sold on the Ethereum blockchain, the world of Women said they aim to lower the barrier to entry for women in Web3:
“Our mission is to highlight and lift up as many female and underserved creators as possible, making the metaverse not just a landscape designed by men but rather one enriched with as much diversity of thought as possible.”
The mission has four main pillars like to uplift the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects, providing more visibility for women-centric causes, educating newcomers, and giving back to other charities. With the grant, Sandbox plans to support creators’ journeys in Web3 from mentoring and funding the first mints to the first sale. World of women and Sandbox will work together to create a series of interactive experiences into the metaverse. Among these projects is the WoW Museum on a 2×2 Sandbox LAND which provides free online lessons on how to get started with Web3 which will also further serve as a mentoring and funding incubator.
The sandbox acquired the most expensive WoW NFT at the time of purchase for 200 ETH dubbed Aurora and made her the new “goddess” of Sandbox. The co-founder Yam Karkai, revealed that WoW will be vocalizing the 10,000 NFTs so that the entire community is able to join in the metaverse. The interoperable avatars will be accessible in the Sandbox Alpha Season 2. WoW is gearing up for film, music, TV, and other opportunities thanks to the tech investor Guy Oseary who added WoW to his NFT portfolio.
