Rapper Lil Pump will launch his own cryptocurrency dubbed “PumpCoin” in collaboration with Fyooz which is a platform that turns celebrities into tradeable tokens so let’s read more in today’s crypto news.
The new PumpCoin NFT is coming soon via the Winklevoss twins digital art marketplace. Rapper Lil Pump, best known for his songs “Gucci Gang” and for his support towards President Donald Trump, decided to launch a cryptocurrency dubbed PumpCoin. The cryptocurrency will be launched in a collaboration with Fyooz which is a company that securitizes celebrity status and makes coins themed after the popular artist or influencers.

According to the press release, PumpCoin will “let you game directly with the rapper himself” as well as engage with the rapper in other ways. There are no words yet on how that’s going to work but the company said that the coin will be announced later today and described it as being “like Cameo but cooler.” Another representative for the company confirmed that PumpCoins will be available outside of the US initially thanks to the SEC regulations with the company planning to release the coins in 2021. Fyooz pulled a similar trick with Lil Yachty last month and sold $400,000 in YachtyCoins via an ICO.
As with the Yachty partnership, the platform joined forces with the Winklevoss twins’ digital art marketplace which is quite a nice place to release one of your NFTs which are collectible blockchain-based assets. Lil Pump initially became famous because of his song “Gucci Gang” but later he debuted with an album called Harverd Droput which debuted in the top ten. He also decided to rally behind President Donald Trump in the latest election. Trump eventually ended up calling him “little pimp” before winning Florida which is Lil Pump’s home state but it is hard to say if that was attributed to the Pump Bump.
PumpCoin is not the first crypto-related venture for Lil Pump as he has an online merch store that started accepting payments in BTC. Other rappers were getting on board with crypto as well, like Megan Thee Stallion who gave out $1 million in BTC via her Twitter profile. Celebrities are joining abord and many of them already invested during the latest market rally.
