Parler tries to attract crypto users with a new Trump NFT while also looking to broaden its reach as we can see more in today’s latest crypto news.
Parler is a “free speech” alternative to Twitter and now it is looking to broaden its reach by getting to new users. Parler tries to attract these new users with a new Trump NFT that is dedicated to the 45th President called, “Official CryptoTrump Club.” According to DeepRedSky, each CryptoTRUMP is unique, featuring images of former President Donald Trump and in the 10,000 NFT collection, 250 are categorized as rare NFTS.

DeepRedSky Chief Marketing Officer Christina Cravens said that Parler sees a connection between the decentralized space, free speech, and the idea of less big tech:
“So whether you’re conservative or you’re liberal, we want a broader conversation. And this helps us to do that.”
The CTO Sam Lipoff explained that the platform will feature a wide range of NFTs in the upcomign months and while Parler is happy to host the political discourse, the team behind the platform wants to move past politics hoping to attract crypto users:
“I would say to be quite honest, the Parler site today is very heavily political. And you know, if that’s the way it is, that’s fine,” Lipoff said. “But I think, beginning in the next few months, you’ll see a variety of NFTs that we would call both partisan and non-partisan, and we hope that diversifies the audience a little bit.”
Starting with a polarizing figure like Donald Trump is quite a high risk, especially with the crypto audience. Trump said in a 2021 interview that he doesn’t really like crypto and said that BTC is a scam. In the final days of his term, his administration even tried to ram through restrictions on crypto wallets at the behest of the president so with that said, Trump’s Comptroller of the Currency Brian Brooks, implemented crypto-friendly banking regulations in his short time at the office.
Some online platforms like Twitter and Onlyfans, already integrated NFTs into the user experience by allowing verified NFT profiles but the Parler CTO Sam Lipoff said that this is not the case of simply following the leader:
“Let me be clear that we are not trying to copy Twitter, in any way. Part of our pitch to creators is that we’re a free speech platform that is not going to demonetize you or kick you off if you say something that violates orthodoxy. We also want to provide additional creative features for creators to be able to not only reach different audiences but be able to monetize.”
