The Otherside discord server as well the one of the BAYC were compromised and 32 NFTs were reportedly stolen as we can see more today in our latest cryptocurrency news today.
In another security breach, 32 non-fungible tokens were stolen because the Otherside Discord server along with one of the Bored Ape Yacht Clubs was compromised. The Discord servers were compromised earlier today and the community manager under the Twitter handle BorisVagner had his account hacked, which allowed scammers to execute a phishing attack and allow users to fake websites under the premise of a giveaway for MAYC, BAYC, and Otherside holders.
Seems like @BoredApeYC & OtherSide discords have been compromised. Be Alert! https://t.co/cq7zyvSVOY

The links exposed were malicious and those that used it saw their NFTs drained so the total value of the stolen tokens hit 145 ETH. Peckshield revealed that the scam saw 32 NFTs stolen which included 1 BAYC, 1 BAKC, 2 MAYC, and 5 Otherside. This is however not the first time BAYC holders fall for phishing scams. The reports show that the company’s Instagram account got hacked back in April and it resulted in a loss of $2.7 million worth of NFTS.
As recently reported, Inside OpenSea’s discord server, the support team issued similar statements and the members in the specific channel for reporting scams on the server also shared screenshots of the specific team. The screenshot of the scam. The screenshot shows an OpenSea bot that announced YouTube is “officially partnering with OpenSea to bring their community into the NFT space.” PeckShield also reported the issue and said that OpenSea’s discord server has been exploited to promote an NFT ming. Accoridng to the screenshots, the hackers posted an announcement about the NFT mint pass offered in a partnership with YouTube.
PeckShield identified the link in the announcement channel as a phishing site and it is not clear if there are other users that fell a victim to the attack. This is not the first time hackers targeted NFT-related Discord servers. A month ago, Bored Ape Yacht CLub’s Discord channel was caught up in a phishing attack which resulted in ApeCoin crashing by more than 8%. later the same month, the BAYC official Instagram account got compromised as well with users who fell for the scam, having their NFTs stolen.
