LUNA enters the top 10 biggest digital assets as of today while Bitcoin remains stuck below $50,000 and the rest of the alternative coins continue to struggle as well. Terra went on a tear once again as we are taking a closer look at today’s altcoin news.
Bitcoin keeps struggling with the $50,000 price point as it failed to breach it and remained below it as of today. Most altcoins are slightly in the red on a daily scale except for Terra which surged by more than 10%. Ever since the huge price crash that transpired during the weekend, BTC failed to produce more gains and to overcome the coveted $50,000 price point and it seems that the asset had done two days ago when it traded well below the line and tapped the $52,000 price point but the bears didn’t allow further increases.
They pushed the cryptocurrency south and below $49,000 so in the following hours, BTC tried another increase which culminated in reaching $51,000. Bitcoin failed to maintain above it and as of now trades below $50,000 with a market cap declining below $950 billion and the dominance over the altcoins sitting at 40%.
LUNA enters the top 10 biggest digital assets while other altcoins struggled in the past few days. Ethereum dumped from $4600 to $3500 during the Saturday crash but bounced off and reclaimed $4000. On the daily scale, ETH is down by 1% and now stands at over $4300. Cardano, Polkadot, Dogecoin, Avalanche, and SHIB are in the red since a day ago and in contrast, Binance coin and Ripple marked slight gains. Terra on the other hand surged by more than 10% and LUNA now trades at $75 with a few inches away from registering a new all-time high which is now set at $78 according to CoinGecko. The asset has now entered the top 10 biggest cryptocurrencies by market cap and more gains were seen by NEAR Protocol at 17%, CELO by 12%, WAX by 29%, Huobi Token y 10%, and Gala by 10%. The crypto market cap remained still at over $2.3 trillion.
As recently reported, Bitcoin has a hard time near $50K as it attempted another increase over the past day but was stopped at $52,000 and retraced to over $50,000. Most of the altcoins stalled since the increases yesterday with a few exceptions like Tezos that surged by 30% in one day on the Ubisoft news.
