Justin Sun’s BTT token or the BitTorrent token was delisted from Binance today after the platform delisted another 30 trading pairs from its platform as we already read in the altcoin news.
Binance’s announcement came as a surprise to many since the BitTorrent token was the first project to launch on the exchange’s initial exchange offering platform- the Binance Launchpad on January 28th. After it reached a hard cap of $7.1 million in less than 15 minutes, the BTT IEO reached a huge success for both the token itself but also for the TRON CEO Justin Sun. It is also important to note that it gave birth to the IEO hype which was almost dying in the past few months.
According to Binance’s announcement, the crypto exchange is delisting also the following pairs from its platform: PHB/USDC, ANKR/PAX, ANKR/USDC, WAVES/PAX, WIN/BTC, FUEL/ETH, ONE/TUSD, FTM/TUSD, BTT/BTC, BCPT/USDC, DOGE/USDC, DOGE/PAX and many more. Binance noted that the reason for delisting the trading pairs is to improve the user experience and to also improve the liquidity of the trading platform. Further, the exchange explained that most of the project teams whose token trading pairs had been delisted, they requested as much.
The 30 delisted token pairs include IEO tokens which were previously launched on the Binance Launchpad including Harmony, BitTorrent, Elrond, and Wink. Another reason for the decision could be the low-performing IEOs on the Binance Launchpad platform which also includes the really bad token sale of the Perlin project.

Binance only removed the BTT/BTC trading pair from the platform but some of the other BitTorrent trading pairs such as USDT/BTT and BNB/BTT remain available on the platform. Very soon after the IEO, Justin Sun’s BTT token started trading upwards and increased up to $0.0018 on May 29th. Since then, the price rolled over and dropped to $0.00042. according to the latest cryptocurrency news, the crypto exchange announced the delisting of the BTT/BTC trading pair and the price of the BTT token crashed below $0.00039 in just a few hours. As of the time of writing, the cryptocurrency managed to slowly recover to more than $0.00041.
