FTX added Naomi Osaka, the major Tennis superstar, as the new athlete ambassador who will lead the initiatives to bring more women into Web3 and get compensation in crypto as we are read furhter In today’s latest altcoin news.
Naomi Osaka joined exchange FTX as its latest global brand ambassador and FTX enlisted other athletes and partnered with other teams and leagues as well. Crypto exchange FTX added Naomi Osaka and plenty of other allies from the sports world over the past year and ranged from ambassadors to sponsorships and added another partner to its table now.

FTX and FTX US announced that Osaka will serve as the global ambassador for the brand and joined other athletes in the role including Steph Curry, Tom Brady, and Shohei Ohtani. Osaka will receive an equity stake in FTX as part of the agreement and will be paid in crypto. FTX and Osaka will collaborate on the initiatives to bring more women into the Web3 space including creating content that is targeted at young women. The content will have a global focus given Osaka’s own multicultural Japanese and Haitian heritage. The exchange will make ad donations to play Academy a charity formed with Nike. The company also said that it will advise Osaka and her investmetns into crypto:
“We have seen the statistics about how few women are part of crypto by comparison, which kind of mirrors the inequality we see in other financial markets. Cryptocurrencies started with the goal of being accessible to everyone and breaking down barriers to entry. I’m excited to partner with FTX to get back to that mission and to innovate on new ways to reach more people and further democratize the space.”
Osaka is already involved in the blockchain industry and the crypto space as one of the main athletes on Autograph which is an NFT platform co-founded by Brady. She is on the board of advisors alongside other athletes like Derek Jeter, Tiger Woods, and Simone Biles. Osaka released a new series of NFT collectibles and was designed by her sister Mari Osaka whcih raised $600,000 for Play Academy Naomi said that the rising popularity of the meme coin DOGE raised her interest in crypto. In addition to the deals, FTX signed a number of other sports partnerships including NBA’s Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors as well as League of Legends esports competitions. The CEO Sam Bankamn Fried said that he has seen major returns from the company’s sports spending spree:
“Everyone we talk to who knows us a little bit, or a lot, or barely, or intimately, this is top of mind for them. Clearly, this has penetrated more than everything else we’ve done combined, in terms of people’s perception of us.”
