France announces the launch of a new digital asset for the upcoming year according to a report from the AFP Newsagency and the central bank of France as we are reading further in the cryptocurrency news.
The news reports stated that the Bank of France’s governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau said in recent interviews that his organization will start running experiments on digital assets and will even launch a call for projects before the first quarter of 2020 which is less than three months away. Galhau noted that the French regulatory agency for banks approves this decision and he further stated that if launched, it will not promote widespread anonymity in transactions:
“Thresholds on the amounts of anonymous transactions, as is already done in France for payments in electronic money or cash, could be introduced for this purpose.”
France announces the new digital asset right before this year-end which means that if the asset is launched before Q1 in 2020, it could become the leading first-world country to have such a venture. The crypto community reacted to the news and noted that this move by the French central bank seemingly validates the entire premise of cryptocurrency.
The prominent bitcoin commentator RhythmTrader noted that ‘’within a decade, governments, banks, and corporations went from laughing at the idea of Bitcoin to trying to imitate it’’ which clearly shows the meaning of this venture to the crypto community. Another popular crypto analyst Anthony Pompliano of Morgan Creek Digital noted on twitter about the matter that it’s just a matter of time before every central bank goes on with a similar strategy. Pompliano added that Bitcoin has an advantage over these projects because central banks can’t copy the separation of state and money which is created by decentralization.
As previously reported, The high school students in France are apparently going to start learning more about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin (BTC) as the leading cryptocurrency out there, according to an update in the high school curriculum. The French high schools will make the new update soon, which was previously amended by the Ministry of National Education in the country.
