According to Ron DeSantis, the Florida Governor, all Florida residents should be able to pay fees in crypto if they want to pay it in crypto and the authorities have to allow the local businesses to do so. In our latest cryptocurrency news, we are reading more about the Governor’s proposition.
According to Ron DeSantis, the authorities have to allow local businesses to pay state fees with BTC and other alternative coins. The member of the Republican party and governor of Florida proposed that the government should allow all businesses to pay the state fees with crypto. He added that the authorities plan to launch a pilot program and to explore using blockchain technology in order to monitor motor vehicle records as well as to validate the Medicaid settlements.
Ron DeSantis announced his idea as a part of the 2022-2023 budget proposal in an appearance in Tallahassee and the entities operating in Florida should also be able to pay the state fees in digital currencies directly to the Department of State. He recommended that about $250,000 of the total budget has to be distributed to support a Blockchain Title Pilot Program in the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. DeSantis also said that the blockchain technology could be of help when monitoring the automobile records but proposed that blockcahin technology has to be implemented in Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration. The Florida residents should not have any issues in choosing what they want to do with their finances. The whole distribution from the budget to the crypto industry reached $700,000 and he said:
“This is something that we welcome, and we want to make sure that the state government is crypto-friendly.”
Florida’s most popular city Miami started to transform itself into a crypto hub under the pro-BTC mayor Francis Suarez. The entire city hosted its biggest-ever event that was focused on Bitcoin. Speaking of Suarez he holds some BTC as well and is a proponent of the crypto industry. He informed me he will receive his salary in Bitcoin as well because BTC has more advantages as it is not tied to a fiat system or monetary policy. Last month, Suarez said his administration is working to enable the city residents to pay taxes in BTC because of the good results of the Miami Coin crypto project:
“We want to do it with bitcoin because it’s what we know and what we trust. We think it’s the most verifiable and most trustworthy network out there.”
