Crypto exchanges are hiring but to get more insight into the direction that the crypto industry is headed, we will read more on the data available in today’s crypto news.
Coinbase has a huge number of job offerings for example listed on the career’s section of the website, amounting to more than a hundred open positions. The Engineering Department seems to be on an expansionary trajectory with about 70 open positions. The Backend and Frontend subdivision is looking for 25 and 17 new staff members but the data also suggests that Coinbase is looking to cement its position as a leading exchange in the United States by focusing on bringing a robust platform to its users after it faced multiple technical problems this year.
Some of the open positions relate to Web 3.0 or a more decentralized web as well as DeFi suggesting that Coinbase could be looking to play a bigger role in the dapp and Defi market space. Some of the other departments include Legal and Compliance with about 14 open positions, Customer Experience with about 14, and Security and Privacy with 15 open positions. Under the legal and Compliance section, they are looking for individuals that have knowledge about the UK, Japan, Germany, and the US.
Kraken, the crypto exchange that recently received a bank charter is also hiring. While there are over 10 departments that have open listings, few of them are taking the bulk of the offered positions. The Department of Client Services has the highest number of listings and a huge number of open positions are related to specialists in different countries. This suggests a push to make the Kraken product offering more localized for Non-English speaking countries.
Crypto exchanges are hiring in Asia as well. OKEx has six open positions related to Beijing and Hong Kong offices. The company looks for user experience personnel and regulatory compliance professional which suggests that the company is looking to meet the legal requirements to operate in that region. the company also aims to double the number of their workers in two years. Huobi shows no open positions on the website but there are about 18 positions on its LinkedIn page. The most senior position in general manager while there many positions for analysts that will help the company deal with risk control and legal issues.
Binance has 207 open positions in over a dozen departments with the major exchanges opening 34 open positions in the Customer Support department many of which are country-specific. A few of the listings in this wing are realted to specific languages. The openings suggest that Binance is making a huge push to meet the needs of the customers in their native languages in Asia.
