Bitcoin Gold (BTG) is one of the popular coins and a digital asset that trades within the largest 50 cryptocurrencies on the market. Today, we are talking more about it and featuring a real story from one of the creators of BTG.
The co-creator of Bitcoin Gold, Alejandro Regojo, is in the crypto news today after he has been featured in an interview. Compared to the “alias-only” creator of Bitcoin (BTC) which has never exposed to the public, this co-creator of BTG showed his face on the cameras and spoke about the coin.
It is Alejandro’s job to inform people about BTG and there is nothing that he is as passionate about as pushing towards widespread adoption. Bitcoin Gold is now trading just below $10 and is in a good momentum overall. When it comes to the benefits of Bitcoin Gold (BTG), one tweet pretty much sums up most of them.
BTG is 2!
First BTG block, 491407, mined on Nov 12, 2017 (forking from Bitcoin block 491406, mined October 23, 2017.)
Still ASIC-resistant!

Alejandro has a background in Internet companies and a keen interest in finance. He was studying economics when he first found out about Bitcoin in 2015. Then, he immediately quit and threw himself into the world of cryptocurrencies.
From the start, Alejandro knew that a mission was in front of him. He knew that he did not want to study (his parents did not like this) and believed that there was “no reason to do that.”
“I understood that there was something newer and better,” he says. “I realised that Bitcoin was my thing because it’s internet and at the same time it’s money, so I entered first as a researcher and then I started trading.”
Once he dived deeper into the Bitcoin news and analysis, he found out many problems and people talking about forks in Bitcoin. This is how he met with anti-ASIC developers on community forums and talked about forks. As he explains, Bitcoin Gold (BTG) started off as an experiment and ended up being developed as a successful project.
“Our idea was to create the most ASIC-resistant version of Bitcoin,” he says, “so at the time we considered that the perfect thing to experiment was to make an algorithm that could take out Bitmain from the mining.

After some serious work on changing the PoW algorithm from SHA-256 to Equihash, Bitcoin Gold (BTG) was improved and came on as extremely successful. Despite the many issues it had to face over the years, it is still one of the coins that is worth giving a look at nowadays.
