As per the NFT artists and other Twitter users like the security expert at crypto wallet MetaMask Harry Denley, Beeple’s account shared a phishing link which If it gets clicked on, steals users’ crypto. The tweet shared a link to a fraudulent website that pretended to be a “raffle” of Beeple’s Louis Vuitton collaboration from back in 2019 but when people clicked the link, one ETH was drained from their wallets instantly as per Denley.

These scams are common in the crypto space, especially on Twitter. A phishing scam hacked verified accounts to steal up to $1 million in a fake Apecoin airdrop. Beeple’s real name Mike Winklemann, is a popular artist that helped boost NFTs into the mainstream. He managed to sell an NFT artwork for $69.3 million at the Christie’s auction house and smashed records in the digital art space.

As recently reported, Pop icon Madonna launched the first NFT with Beeple and it announced it recently saying that the collection includes CGI Madonna giving birth and it is called the “Mother of Creation.” Madonna has a Bored Ape Yacht Club Twitter Profile shared that the pair started collaborating on the first NFT a year ago. The NFTs with Madonna touches upon an emotional connection to technology but also nature. The visuals in the NFTs are surreal and quite disturbing so the result is a contrast between the soft side of the women and the sterility of the research labs.
