Animoca Brands is not done acquiring more studios and recently it acquired three-game studios including Eden GAmes. The co-founder Yat Siu said that Animoca could acquire more studios and discussed the F1 Delta Time closure and increasing the metaverse first IP focus. Animoca Brands is a leading investor in the blockchain gaming and NFT startup but also published its own FNT game including the ETH-based metaverse experience The Sandbox and Animoca have already been on an acquisition spree.

Since the start of the year, Animoca picked up Eden Games, Darewise Entertainment, and Grease Monkey Games and there could be more to come. Animoca brands founder Yat Sio said:
“We’re not done acquiring. What we’re looking to do is to acquire companies in different fields of gameplay in which we don’t quite have the exposure.”
Grease Monkey and Eden are both focused on racing games which first into Animoca’s existing REVV token system which includes REVV Racing on Polygon which is a sidechain scaling solution for Ethereum. In the meantime, Eden Games is a veteran studio founded in 1998 that developed games in the Need for Speed and Test Drive franchises as well as the licensed Formula One mobile game. Eden has focused more ont he mobile games in the past few years and the studio has a history of producing robust console and racing experiences with some strogn gameplay.
Siu believes the future blockchain games will reach a similar standard of quality and he saw it much like the mobile space where simply it hits as Angry Birds led to the most polished 3D titles which captured the essence of the higher end home games and in this case, he said that it is not a matter of waiting for hardware power to catch up:
“We can accelerate that much faster, which is why we are acquiring these studios with this kind of reputation and building very high-quality games on the blockchain.”

Darewise in the meantime is a french startup founded in a larger part by the former Ubisoft developers and the first project is a huge multiplayer online game called Life Beyond that will use the NFTs for in-game items and the NFTs act as a deed of ownership to a digital item and can include things like Weapons, vehicles, apparel, and virtual land. Siu added that Animoca can expand into the dozens of genres with NFT-powered games and the two most specific genres said the company is looking for are first-person shooters and Japanese role-playing games.
