NYDIG is a BTC-centric subsidiary of the asset manager Stone Ridge Holdings Group which offers infrastrcuture solutions for the companies and financial institutions that are looking to operate within the BTC ecosystem. The company’s products include a BTC savings plan which allows employees of organizations to covnert a certain amount of the after-tax salary in BTC. The best part is that customers pay no transaction fees:
“NYDIG is committed to helping our clients realize the full potential of Bitcoin while providing the service and standards that have made our name synonymous with trust.”
The company’s research shows that 36% of employees under 30 will be interested in allocating a chink of their pay to BTC. One in three employees that took part in the survey said that if they had to choose between two identical jobs at different employers, will go for the employers that will offer a BTC option. The price of the leading cryptocurrency dropped in the past two months after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem and the liquditiy issues by other crypto companies like Three Arrows Capital, Celsius, and Voyager Digital. At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $20,830 or up by 4.09% in the past day. The Yankees Vice President Aryn Sobo said:
“We are always looking for innovative ways to expand and improve our employee experience. NYDIG made it easy to add Bitcoin to our roster of benefits, and we look forward to leveraging the NYDIG platform to offer this opportunity to our employees.”
It is not only the Yankees’ players that can convert their salary. Drew Brees who is a former quarterback at the NFL New Orleans Saints, elected to take part of the salary in BTC via NYDIG’s BTC Savings Plan. Even the New York mayor Eric Adams took a part of his salary converted into BTC and ETH and to do so, Adams chose coinbase as the leading US Exchange.
