Yuga Labs Teased BAYC Metaverse With Cool Cats, CryptoPunks NFTs

Yuga Labs teased a BAYC metaverse by showing a short trailer and including Cool Cats, Nouns, and CryptoPunks NFTs as we can see more today in our cryptocurrency news.

The trailer posted to Social media suggests a 3D gaming experience powered by Animoca but it hasn’t been officially confirmed. Yuga Labs teased BAYC metaverse today with the trailer that opens up with a BAYC Ape fishing and he then feels a tug on his rod and sees that it is in fact a bottle that says “DRINK ME”. The ape does so and finds himself abducted by a flying visit. The video goes on to show other NFT collections like Cool Cats, CryptoPunks, CrypToadz, Meebits, Nouns, and more.

Considering what a week the BAYC franchise had, the teaser is a curious addition to the hype and speculation about where the platform plans to take BAYC next. There arent any more details as of late but taken together, this week’s announcements suggest a 3D BAYC Gaming experience with the help of Animoca. Thursday was the launch of Apecoin which can be claimed by both Bored and Mutant Ape Yacht Club holders with the token being launched by ApeCoin DAO which is an autonomous organization affiliated with the BAYC franchise. The press outlined that the ApeCoin DAO wasn’t to be equated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club or Yuga Labs which are both centralized.

ApeCoin DAO recruited prominent people from the crypto community to serve on its board including Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and FTX’s Amy Wu. They will serve for six months and the holders will then be able to vote for new members that will serve one-year terms. The blockchain metaverse developer Animoca who is famous for The Sandbox said that it will enter the BAYC Universe:

If a user is to click on the link on the tweet, it will take them to a landing page that shows a picture of a porch, a doorway, and neon lights that say “FOMO”, “BAYC” and “305.” In spite of the marketing push, today’s trailer didn’t do much to stem Apecoin losses in the past day, and the 37^th biggest crypto by market cap dropped by 7.66% to hit $13.25.
