Adobe tapped Polygon to scale its NFT functionality for its Behance social platform which will allow it to mint directly onto OpenSea and avoid high fees on Ethereum so let’s read more in today’s latest blockchain news.
Adobe is a leading software company that announced that it will be working with Polygon to integrate the Ethereum scaling program in its Behance social media platform. The integration will allow creators to showcase NFT tokens to the world while lowering the carbon footprint and the transaction fees. NFTs are unique tokens that exist on the blockchain and signify ownership of the asset.
Adobe tapped polygon after it acquired Behance in 2012. in October, it started integrating tools for artists to become able to create NFTs which is about the same time when Polygon started its integration with the top NFT marketplace Opensea and according to Polygon, the creators are now able to mint NFTs on the Polygon network to OpenSea and avoid the Ethereum network and the high fees. Polygon, formerly known as Matic NEtwork, is a PoS protocol launched back in 2017 as a way for Ethereum-compatible blockchains to solve the scaling issues. Polygon’s native coin MATIC is now the 16th biggest crypto by market cap at $11.2 billion. Polygon also uses MATIC for payments and settlements. The Adobe vice president of product Will Allen said:
“I love Polygon’s vision of being an Ethereum scaling solution. It can help give creators the best of both worlds: the security of Ethereum as a settlement layer while providing lower gas fees and a negligible carbon footprint.”
Allen said that artists are able to mint NFTs either on their contract or on OpenSea, saying that Behance creatives can showcase the work by connecting the MetaMask wallets:
“It’s been remarkable to watch the adoption—tens of thousands of users have connected their MetaMask wallets to showcase their NFTs. I’m excited to see this continue to grow.”
Behance plans to roll out tools to help solve issues that emerge in the NFT space like content credentials that were launched In October in order to boost transparency and to help artists prove their ownership:
“Behance’s mission, is to help creatives build their careers on their own terms.”
