New Bakkt Study Suggests Women Will Dominate The Crypto Space

A new Bakkt study suggests women will dominate in the crypto space as they are investing in crypto and closing the gender gap more and more accoridng to the data we have today in our cryptocurrency news.

The new Bakkt study titled “Women & Crypto” shows that now women will dominate the crypto space and are outpacing men as first-time purchasers. The self-described “Global regulated ecosystem for digital assets” Bakkt said its study focus is the gender gap in crypto:

“The gender gap in crypto has been well documented, but little data exists for how the industry can move forward in a more inclusive way.” The paper analyzes “awareness and attitudes toward cryptocurrency among women, who both own and do not own crypto, and, how it differs from men who own.”

The details of the Bakkt Study are:

“The study surveyed 1,012 consumers including – 508 women who don’t own cryptocurrency but have basic level of awareness, 254 women who own crypto and 250 men who own crypto across the U.S. and was fielded in February 2022.”

Another important factor is that the study was heavy up in the 25 to 44 age bracket recruitment for 3 segments. Even though it is a US-centric study, the results might not be applicable for the rest of the world but the numbers are still quite interesting. Bakkt found out that men were early crypto adopters but now women are outpacing them with 38% of the women making their first crypto purchase in the past 6 months compared to 30% of men.

Crypto owners feel like they know about this subject more than those who have that their experience with crypto and about 70% of the no-coiners rate their knowledge as low or very low which compares to 13% of male crypto owners and 22% of women crypto owners rating their knowledge as low or very low.

Accoridng to Bakkt also, both men and women crypto owners reported their top investments to be BTC and ETH. Also, a survey from Blockfi shows that women are way more interested in crypto than ever with one-third planning to buy crypto this year and 60% of women saying that they will buy crypto in the next few months.
