Очень расстроен решением Путина отказаться от возможности мирного решения спора с Украиной и вместо этого начать войну. Это преступление против украинского и русского народа.
Хочу желать всем безопасности, хотя знаю, что не какой безопасности не будет.
Слава Украине.

After recognizing the independence of two separatist regions in eastern Ukraine earlier this week, Putin declared that Russia will conduct a special military operation in Ukraine which turned out to be a full-blown invasion. Buterin appealed to Putin to de-escalate e the conflict with Ukraine and tweeted that the attack can harm both countries as well as humanity. Buterin was born in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union after which his parents emigrated to Canada in 2000 which is the year that Putin became president.
Vitalik’s father Dmitry has some strong views about the Russian president and at one point he said:
“He’s KGB, and those are the people who tortured and killed millions of Russians and Ukrainians.”
Buterin attempted diplomacy himself. He even met with Putin in 2017 in a bid to get Russia using the Ethereum network. Putin dipped his toes into crypto like Bitcoin but then overruled the central bank suggesting that the country’s energy resources give it certain competitive advantages in BTC mining. However, neither Putin nor Russia ever fully embraced crypto and its ethos tends to run counter to authoritarianism. Distributed blockchains are run by thousands of people all across the world and are nonpartisan by design but still, they are created by people that have certain political views. Buterin wrote:
“Reminder, Ethereum is neutral, but I am not.”
As recently reported, Buterin was raised in Toronto by Russian immigrants and he often tweets in English but now he used his mother tongue to say that an invasion will harm both countries and that humanity will suffer as a whole. He added that the choice to avoid war lies entirely with Putin and the Kremlin. This is not his first interaction with Putin.
