NFL Quarterback Mac Jones Gave His Teammates 1 BTC As Xmas Gifts

NFL Quarterback Mac Jones gave his teammates 1 BTC as a Christmas gift as we are reading more today in our latest Bitcoin news.

In the spirit of Christmas, NFL quarterback Mac Jones or Michael McCorkle gifted his teammates with BTC. Although the amount he shared was not disclosed, Jones gifted BTC to 12 of his teammates making them bitcoin holders for the first time. The list includes David Andrews, Ted Karras, Trent Brown, Yasir Durant, Yodnay Cajuste, Justin Herron, James Ferentz, Shaq Mason, Mike Onwenu, Will Sherman, Alex Redmond, and Isaiah Wynn.

The 23-year old who plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football league said that he has been researching BTC for some time now and he decided to give out some to his teammates as a present for Christmas. Jones said that he used BTC service provider Swan Private to distribute the coins with the help of Bitcoin Magazine. He noted:

“I’ve been studying Bitcoin for a while now. This year I just knew I had to give some Bitcoin to my teammates… So I reached out to Bitcoin Magazine and asked for help on how to give Bitcoin as a gift.”

In the meantime, as BTC continues to go mainstream, it is gaining more acceptance from sports stars and professionals. Mac Jones is not the first NFL player that was interested in Bitcoin. Aaron Rodgers also announced that he wished to get a part of his salary in BTC by partnering with Cash App.  The same month, Los Angeles Rams player Odell Beckham Jr, took a similar approach and signed a partnership with Cash App that will enable him to receive his paycheck in BTC.

Also as recently reported, Fantasy Football website Sorare welcomed the Football star  Gerard Pique as its new Strategic Advisor as the famous player made major investments in the non-fungible tokens platform. In another crypto-soccer-related investment, FC Barcelona player joined the NFT platform Sorare as the new Strategic Advisor according to an official announcement as one of the most distinguished and accomplished players who also made investments in the NFT website.
