Latvia’s flag air carrier AirBaltic confirmed today that they are a pro-crypto company that enables customers to make bookings with a variety of digital assets. Now, users can start booking flights with ETH, dOGE, and Bitcoin Cash and the tokens joined the list of four USD-pegged stablecoins alongside Bitcoin. The AS Air Baltic Corporation referred to as airBaltic is the main flag carrier of Lativa that has also displayed a pro-crypto approach for many years. Back in 2014, the company was one of the first to accept payments that were made with the number one cryptocurrency to purchase flight tickets.

airBaltic announced the addition of new coins that will allow customers to choose between more tokens when they book their flights. These include Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and DOGE as it is surging in popularity as of now. As a result, the company accepts a total of eight cryptocurrencies including GUSD, PAX, USDC, and BUSD. The latest addition came with the help of BitPay but it’s worth noting that, unlike Tesla that enabled BTC payments for the vehicles and said that it will retain them in BTC, airBaltic will convert the assets into fiat.

Once the users choose the desired service on the website, the prices will be displayed in EUR but when they pay for them, the crypto asset will be selected and converted to EUR automatically with the current exchange rate determined by BitPay. CEO Martin Gauss commented:

 “As an innovative airline, we always strive to search for ways to improve the customer experience starting from the booking process. Over the years, 1,000 clients have used the payment option, which may not seem like a lot, but still offers passengers a unique payment option hard to find elsewhere.”
