Dan Larimer, the EOS Creator reveals a new major project dubbed Clarion which is the fourth blockchain project that is based on decentralized social networks and is aimed at disrupting Big Tech so let’s read more in our latest EOS news.
The EOS creator reveals his fourth blockchain project Clarion that has similar aims to his previous projects but will be built in a different way. Larimer hopes that Clarion will bring the “logical decentralization that was intended before big Tech locked into their services and stopped producing tools that empower people.”
Blockchain developer Dan Larimer announced the new project and similar to the other projects, Clarion will be focused on Decentralized networking and will enable people to communicate without relying on the trusted third parties. Larimer created a few prominent blockchain projects as back in 2013 he built BitShares as a way of exchanging fiat money for cryptocurrency and in 2016 he founded Steem as a decentralized content network which suffered another blockchain war evolving into Hive. In 2017, he created EOS that raised $5 billion in the biggest ICO in the world and he is now starting something new:
“Clarion OS is just getting started and is in the early design stage. We are assembling a team of developers to build the first prototypes. This project will be developed in the open and welcomes contributions from anyone interested in restoring the internet to the level of logical decentralization that was intended before Big Tech locked us into their services and stopped producing tools that empower people.”
The main idea behind the protocol enables people to send messages to each other and will include delayed communication while supporting group charts as well. He is focused on the same goal in the past and tried to disrupt Facebook and Twitter but now his project will be different. Clarion will operate as an underlying messaging protocol that works similarly to the InterPlanetary File system. The goal will be to move information faster so it will be less important to ensure that everything is in the right order while not needing the same complicated consensus mechanism like mining coins.
EOS was his biggest project to date and the blockchain is set to become the home of Voice, the decentralized social network that will reward users for posting good content. The EOS network has a few dapps built on it and the biggest one is Upland, a virtual game that is mapped to the real world with more than 11,000 users who spent $71,000 in the past 24hours.
