The Latest Bitcoin Cash ABC attack by the mysterious miners group has made the new blockchain almost unusable as we are reading more in the latest Bitcoin Cash news.
According to various reports, the Bitcoin ABC attack happened on the pro-IFP chain and the mystery miners were mining a huge number of sequential blocks but all of them were empty. The miner or group of miners dubbed “Voluntarism.dev” said that the mining operation is basically a group of old-guard miners and claim that they can mess with the minority ABC chain for years.
The crypto community was watching the aftermath of the recent blockchain developments which saw the ABC node fork into its own blockchain. The Bitcoin Cash ABC network is nameless and has no branding so the token is often referred to as ABC, BCHA or BAB. Last week, there was an attack on the network after a miner or group of miners mined a huge number of consecutive empty blocks. Because the block was empty for a longer period of time, it’s hard for anyone to send a transaction on the chain and to get the transaction confirmed on time.
Since that report, the miner/s introduced on Twitter under the handle Voluntarism.dev and created a message with the blockchain signature I order to verify the legitimacy. The same day the miner tweeted:
“good ideas don’t require force. I hope all miners agree: we would like 100% of the BCHA coinbase reward to go to pqnqv9lt7e5vjyp0w88zf2af0l92l8rxdgnlxww9j9.”
Later the same day, the group tweeted that “the price of freedom is steep” and also posted screenshots of the ABC lead developer Amaury Sechet where he discussed the infrastructure funding plan. The group wrote:
“ABC violated the (non-aggression principle) NAP with 9 months of civil war. Freeriders must pay 100% of the block reward to ABC. We will orphan all blocks that do not. We will pay 100% as well, once ABC merges this change. The amount of value that ABC stole from [Bitcoin Cash] pales in comparison to our expenditures. We are a group of old-guard miners and whales. We can do this for years. Next time you fork: use your own genesis block, your own PoW [algorithm], and build your own community. [Bitcoin Cash] is protected.”
The latest Bitcoin ABC attack led to a 24-hour long cleanup as the blockchain suffered a total of two blockchain reorganizations. The mining pool Mining Dutch managed to process thousands of transactions for the senders on Saturday.
