PornHub Premium Starts Accepting Bitcoin And Litecoin Payments

PornHub Premium has just announced that it accepts bitcoin and Litecoin payments as we are reading more in our bitcoin latest news.

PornHub premium was launched back in 2007 in Montreal, Canada, and quickly became one of the biggest adult websites in the world. PornHub Premium is the company’s source for HD adult videos where the users have to pay a few to watch videos and now they can pay in Litecoin and Bitcoin. The premium, HD arm of the website announced that they are now accepting Bitcoin and Litecoin as payment methods to further expand the crypto options:

“To further expand our cryptocurrency options for Pornhub Premium, we’re excited to announce that we now accept Bitcoin & Litecoin as payment methods!”

It’s important to outline that there’s a huge difference between the two websites even though they are the same brand. The data from Similar Web shows that the adult website PornHub received about 3 billion monthly visitors where the Premium page peaked at $286 million in April, having the traffic rate down to 97 million monthly visitors in July. There’s a huge audience no matter the numbers and now users can pay using Bitcoin and Litecoin which is a push in the crypto direction when it comes to mass adoption.

Back in 2019, the company announced that PayPal has cut off payouts to more than a hundred thousand performers who rely on them for their livelihoods. PayPal used to be one of the most commonly used payment processors that PornHub worked with and as such, a lot of performers found themselves looking for an alternative. At that time, the reports showed that the crypto leaders pushed Pornhub to Bitcoin because it is a decentralized and immutable way of sending and receiving money.

The website is no stranger to crypto, however, as it has already allowed payments through Verge and Tron’s TRX when they announced they will also start accepting USDT. In any case, PornHub Premium started accepting Litecoin and Bitcoin which is good news as big companies continue accepting the largest cryptocurrency as a means of payment.

Also as previously reported, Pornhub has updated its list of payment methods and announced the decision for the PornHub models in their blog post saying that they can also pay the models via the adult industry payment app called Comso Payment. The new opportunities come as a response to PayPal giving models this decision to choose between payment methods two months ago and stopped all payments made to adult industry performers.
