IOTA published a new development update on the important project such as BEE, IRI, Trinity wallet, and Chrysalis. The platform made great progress in the development of the projects and even published a detailed roadmap for the development of the Smart Contracts which will be coming in the following weeks.
In the latest development update that IOTA published, the Foundation provided more information on the progress of the project IRI, Bee, Chrysalis, and the Trinity wallet. IOTA changed the roadmap slightly and is now focused more on smart contract features that will be released as soon as the features are in high demand for enterprise use.
The development team informed that in cooperation with the Hornet team, they are progressing and try to finalize the specifications for the first changes. The most important changes are the random tip selection (RFT #8 protocol), white flag (protocol RFC #5), and the latest signature scheme protocol. By using the Hornet node software that was already tested, Autopeering will be implemented in the next version.
The IOTA team is completing the final work on the first Bee prototype and in the internal tests which Bee already delivered good results and successfully reached the first major milestone. Bee is the implementation of the Core Client in the programming Rust language. Last month, the 1.8.5 IRI was released and this aims to eliminate some of the changes in the bundle validation rules and there are some vulnerabilities. The 1.8.6 version will receive more updates in the future and 1.8.6 version will be released next week.
IOTA is focused on providing new features that will increase demand in industry and businesses. IOTA is working on new smart contracts approach a second layer solution so that the complex functions to ETH can be performed on the Tangle. The Trinity Team is working on creating a PoC app that aims to show the capabilities of the Unified Identity Protocol. Also, the latest version of the GoShimmer is supposed to be released in the first half of June.
The latest version of the IOTA Streams will also receive more documentation that will allow the participants to test the features in detail and to provide feedback. The team is also working on finishing the CLI Functionality for the new Permanode with the help of the Rust Tokyo runtime environment.
