Ripple Moved Nearly $250 Million In XRP To Kick Off Month Of May

The XRP news today show that Ripple moved nearly a quarter billion dollars worth of its altcoin in order to kick off the month of May. In fact, exact figures show that Ripple moved $226,000,000 in XRP, transferring 1 billion of XRP from its escrow wallets to three separate wallets owned by the company.

In addition to this, the company behind the altcoin sent 55,079,321 which is worth $11.8 million to its co-founder Jed McCaleb as a part of a settlement process which was negotiated after he left the company back in 2013. This was even confirmed in a tweet by Whale Alert.

The dollar value of the XRP Ripple sent across the ledger is now in total more than $226 million at the time of publishing. Ripple, which owns more than half of the total supply of XRP, unlocks XRP from escrow every month and makes the funds available to sell to third parties.

In the coming altcoin news, the company behind XRP recently published its latest quarterly report showing that it sold $1.75 million of the digital asset in the first quarter of this year.
