Today, we are listing the most promising Japanese blockchain startups which are likely to succeed even more in the new year.

Companies which have blockchain and cryptocurrency interests in the country incldue the names of SBI, Monex, Rakuten and GMO Internet – all dominating the headlines lately. This week, they have all joined the recent updates and the securities firm Tokai Tokyo was also in the news as a relatively new player in the blockchain industry in Japan.

First of all is LayerX. Only 18 months old, this company is looking into building on existing blockchain protocol layers and already become one of the first Japanese companies to win an Ethereum Foundation. The startup has partnerships with Microsoft and Mitsubishi UFJ.

BlockBase

Second in our list of most promising Japanese startups is Blockbase. This is a company that seeks to build an exchange marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Nayuta

Nayuta recently released a wallet and a 2nd layer and Lighting Network. As such, it is looking to move in the IoT sector and is backed by $1.6 million by mainstream investors.

Chaintope

This company has an interest in locally issued stablecoins which are expected to rise in Japan in 2020. It received a $1 million funding boost in 2018 and already has offices in Malaysia.

Cryptoeconomics Lab

As you can see, this name is also in the list of most promising Japanese startups. The company is working on boosting the processing capacity of the Ethereum blockchain and has been in the crypto news for some time now. It received grants from both the Ethereum and Tezos foundations.

HashHub

Also in partnership with Microsoft, HashHub is looking to enable payment and development solutions on the Azure marketplace, retaining staking interests and more.

This startup is the developer of My Crypto Heroes – known to be the world’s best known blockchain game to date. It made its way onto the Samsung blockchain store, too.
