The blockchain software giant ConsenSys and the semi-conducter producer AMD as well as the Abu Dhabi-based investment management firm Halo Holdings are together working on a new blockchain-based cloud computing infrastructure which is featured in the latest cryptocurrency news on our website.
The official announcement came from a crypto press release published by ConsenSys yesterday. As the release notes, the companies have entered a joint partnership to create the so called W3BCLOUD which will aim at the development of AMD hardware-based datacenter products for emerging blockchain workloads.
In the collaboration, ConsenSys will be responsible for providing expertise in the field of computing in blockchain transactions, security issues as well as use cases for the technology. Per the release, W3BCLOUD will be “the first” independent cloud computing blockchain infrastructure to satisfy the requirements of both the public and the private sector.
The director of product management and blockchain technology at AMD, Joerg Roskowetz, recently said that the product will be designed to “tackle challenges ranging from smart identity, enterprise data centers and health ID tracking, to licensing and supply chain management.”
ConsenSys recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korean technological holding SK Group in an initiative which aims at building an enterprise blockchain business by using smart contracts.
In November 2018, AMD partnered with seven tech companies to produce eight new crypto mining rigs designed to meet the various aspirations of “innovative blockchain platforms.”
