Eminem is back with a new hit called “Not Alike” which is also available on Spotify. However, the song is very popular in the crypto waters too – mostly because of Eminem’s view towards the largest cryptocurrency out there, Bitcoin.
The cult rapper mentions Bitcoin in his own song, rapping that “Everybody doing Bitcoin” in a string of phrases that describes our contemporary life. Even though the song has references to violence, the references to cryptocurrency are what Eminem describes as his realistic point of view.
However, this is not the first time Bitcoin has been mentioned in a song. In 2014, Toby and Decap wrote the “Welcome to the blockchain” song which was a song that declared that “power corrupts and money is power.”
Aside from the music industry, cryptocurrency is being pushed on the big screen too. The upcoming Hollywood movie, “Crypto”, will show the world how cryptocurrencies are used – from money laundering to actual hacking and Internet threats. It will star Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls and Kurt Russell.
Many people say that musicians and the entertainment industry, in general, are what seems to always push the new forms of technology to the masses. Hopefully, this will be the case with Bitcoin and Eminem this time.
